Quote: However, if I were to post a coin with an error ( or any question about it) I would love to hear more than one person give the same answer. I agree. This is how you determine consensus. Multiple voices giving opinions, even if they are the same, are necessary to help determine how confident one is when reading an answer.

@E&V You are one of the members I was referring to in my earlier post. Keep it up. Quote: I learn a lot from reading all of the responses to the threads. I like to see that multiple people especially a certain few that I consider very knowledgeable based on my follow up on the information in their responses.

I just found this topic and read through it from post #1. I can honestly say I have not noticed the parrot that seems to be singled out here but maybe I'm just not following the same topics. I don't know, maybe I am the parrot. At any rate, I'm kind of disheartened by the members that want to suppress someone's right to respond to a topic just because they were late to the game just like I am right now. I enjoy seeing members chime in even though what they have to say has already been said. They have every right to in my opinion and it certainly helps me get to know members. I say keep posting all.

I too just saw this post. A forum is a place for posting, if you don't like what someone posts, move on. I may check in here a couple times a day, sometimes I won't be on for several days, so sometimes I don't see a post the minute it's posted. I've been here over a year and only have 300 some posts so I hope your rant doesn't apply to me. If someone posts a nice coin or currency I will tell them, nice coin, etc and I don't care how many people have said the same thing. To make people fearful to post or chastising them will quickly drive people away from here, and the forum will die. I was especially sad to see Bobby post that he gets complaints about someone posting too much. Come on, grow up, how does it really impact on your life, that's what the site is for... quit belly aching to Bobby, he has enough BS on his plate just keeping this site alive.

I think that everyone is in agreement that everybody is entitled to their opinion on the forum after all that is what makes a forum. However, I think that most of you are missing the op's point! The Rhant is about saying the exact same thing word for word like they copied and pasted it it like it's being said for the first time. Hence (Parroting) In other words, use YOUR OWN words not someone else's!

I think you're right, I've misunderstood this from the start I think. I haven't noticed these "parrot" replies to be honest.

I am in the camp that is saying ... let everyone post their opinion .. Even if it is the same opinion that others have posted.
If you don't like some members opinions, don't read them.
I like getting several opinions, when I post. After a while you will start to figure out who knows what they are talking about.

Quote: let everyone post their opinion .. Even if it is the same opinion that others have posted. Is plagiarism considered an opinion? That's what this rant is about. Stealing other's comments word for word then using them as your own... what good is that? Opinions are obviously welcome anytime. BUT If you (anybody) are going to add someone's reply and want us to believe it is yours (anybodies) then at least change it up a little.
