The Cuban Peso was designed by Charles E. Barber and minted in Philadelphia. It is the same diameter and weight of Morgan/Peace Dollar. Until I started researching this coin I didn't know the U.S. Mint made that many coins for other countries.

I thought it was a .72 ASW, not .77. Thanks for the information.

It's actually pretty extensive and PCGS has a set registry with a list of them which is one of the cooler set ideas in world coins in my opinion.

Although the US embargo only applies to Castro-era Cuban coins, the geniuses at ebay have banned all Cuban coins.

As a practical matter, Cuban coins are still listed on ebay but without "Cuba" in the item title.

That is a very nice example you posted.

I have some graded paper currency, and many raw coins from there. It is a fascinating category to dive into.
