China Junk Dollar Pattern

If you look at the reverse you see this does not match any (32-34) Junk Dollar reverses.

My understanding is that this (99.99% surely) fake is trying to be one of the pattern coins. Anybody recall who made that pattern? I believe that pre-32 China had a few other nation's Mints produces some designs.

I concur. I've said before here that uncertified items like this should be regarded presumptively to be forgeries unless and until proven conclusively otherwise. Provenance would have to be stellar to make me think for even a moment otherwise, and there's not the slightest hint of any such in this instance. The fact that it's claimed to be out of an estate means nothing, and a seller with a small feedback sample and a "no return" policy are red flags in any event.

I don't know about that, but in 1949 the U.S. Mint produced the 1934 type without redating it. It's my opinion that most of the ones you'll encounter today are from that restrike.
