I liked this one, as it was the first year of issue and the highest graded by ICCS (1 of only 3 according to the 2016 report).

vonigohcr, wow...that's the first time I have seen them all side by side. Very nice. . I have a few loose, but my set is still in their cases. Thanks for the picture.

Thanks Loonielewy. I have been a sucker for the Lighthouse storage/presentation materials. I have a similar tray for Proof Loons but there is a very large and obvious gap at 2007... Just too expensive...
I went this route because I actually enjoy looking at my collection and I found that in the tray it was much more accessible than in the individual cases. Lighthouse also offer a variety of tray "cabinets" that you can use to stack the trays so they don't have to be hidden away in the back of a cabinet or closet while at the same time not being obviously displayed.
I also use this storage/presentation method for my 36mm Specimen/Proof Canada Dollars. It is indicative of the direction of the mint that the number of years covered by the first tray (starts 1971) and the current tray is quite different... There was one release in 1971... it moved to two releases in 1981 (Proof & BU) but 2017 had 7 different 36mm Silver Dollar releases...
While I collect Proof/Specimen/BU Silver & Sterling Dollars & Loons, I have shied away from the base metal NCLT "giftware" loons. There are just too many out there.

Quote: there is a very large and obvious gap at 2007... Just too expensive... Your in the same boat as me, I made it to 2012 and am still looking for all proof loons since then, at a good bargain of course. Quote: I have shied away from the base metal NCLT "giftware" loons. There are just too many out there. Way to many. I pick up the odd one that catches my eye every now and then. I like your cases, but mine are just in a 3 ring binder for now, but like you said, it's nice and handy to view them.

Ever notice how the Mint uses the same design more than once. The loon on my avatar is a good example. It appears the design was used in 2002 on my avatar and the specimen "loon family" coin. Then it was resurrected for the 2008 "Loon Dance" circulation coin, and the 2008 Olympic silver coin too. That's 4 times. Any opinions? .

Very nice. . You sure have a lot considering your location. May I ask how you got them as I don't see any Australian coins here in Canada? .

MrCanada, boy, that's more than a few dollar coins you need to get every year to hit all the mint puts out. . Good for you. I gave up on the NCLT long ago. As far as the complete list, I just use Charlton Vol. 1 and 2. triggersmob, Good luck with your loon collection. .
