1983-P-Dark-Jefferson-Nickel

This 1983 P Jefferson nickel is 1 of 3 dark nickel's I've found among over 10 years of pocket change. This coin is not as dark as the 1964 dark nickel I have, but is slightly darker than the 2000 D dark nickel of mine.

Looks like Environmental Damage to me. If so, then it's a form of Post Strike Damage (meaning it happened after it left the U.S. Mint).
