Thanks all ... it was a good experience.

As I posted above I made $700 profit on one coin, but did sell much more.

After a nice nap and time to reflect...

I am wondering how dealers can buy from me and resell for a profit.

I do feel I made a profit on most of the coins I sold. A few that I did not were
more based on silver value ... silver had dropped in price since I bought them.

Now if I can figure out how to sell a lot of the common stuff ...

Great thread GR58 and congrats on the sales! I've set up at one of these local shows before down here in Missouri. I had the same experience with things selling that I really didn't expect. A lot of my details graded early copper sold like hot cakes.

What type of coins were selling that you didn't expect up in Michigan?

I sold more Walkers than Morgan's The top being a 1946 DDR MS 64.

Also quite a few proof sets.

I was very surprised some slabbed Franklins did not even get looked at.
And slabbed ASE's, also did not get looked at.

I did sell some early copper .. I should have taken more.

Good to hear you did well GR58. I made the show, but had maybe five minutes. I was there in time for the 50-50 drawing, my wife was out in the truck, we had a full day of dealing with her vechicle issues and the horrendous service of - - - - Tire, so I couldn't stay and barely was able to look at anything.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

I did good at Jackson as well. I sold a lot of collector coins as opposed to just a whole bunch of bullion, but there was a little gold, a roll of ASE, and some 90%.

I also met GoldRush58, which was easy as he was the only dealer I did not recognize. GR58, I had previously been surprised by the complete lack of interest in slabbed Eagles. I bought a box of MS-70 Early Release NGC and it took me a year to sell them. I no longer carry slabbed Eagles. If you are up for another one soon, the Redford show has had a number of open tables of late. Call Hanna if you are interested in the Oct. 28th show.

This was a very interesting and informative thread for newbs like me. It was like a good novel with a very satisfying denouement. I'm tempted to get a table at a show now!
