Tell you that you get a box or a book or some other pretty much worthless add-ons that you really don't want, but pump up the "value" by including these cheap extras. Geez.

I know, it's a rhetorical question.

Because to the uninformed so called coin collector it makes them think they are getting a good deal.

For the same reason that TV shows come in 5- or 6-DVD sets instead of just one or two discs (or a single Bluray). If you don't have more stuff in your hand, you feel like you didn't get enough.

Remember most people that are not coin collectors really don't know what they are supposed to collect. A pretty box just might be what is supposed to be there.

Jim, this is the red oak presentation box. Available exclusively here. It is not available elsewhere. Let me repeat that - the red oak presentation box is only available on HSC and is custom designed...custom designed for this spectacular value only available to HSC customers and only for a limited time.

Hooked yet?

I dont get what the grief is here. The boxes actually are kind of nice they just take up a lot of space. Would I pay for them or use them for most things no but they're hardly anything to complain about. Every single industry and on the planet has value adders and packaging things they do to encourage a sale

Sometimes the boxes look nicer than the coins. Just like half my Christmas presents last year - the pretty paper wrapper was nicer than what's inside.
