Dont know much about wood grains, haven't found one yet so is this a good thing? Toning? Mixture problems with the metals? Kind of lost here.

Looks like a nice woody to me, although the obv looks rubbed or something compared with the rev. Or is that just the lighting on that pic? Not sure if there is any added value to this over normal premium for it being a circulated P-mint LWC.

Nice example in great condition. Some collectors really like these, others don't.

If it's a true woody, it's odd that the grain pattern doesn't extend all the way to the rim on the obverse.

To be more specific, they're actually called an Improper Alloy Mix, but we like to call them a "Woody", since they have a wood grain pattern. http://www.error-ref.com/improper-alloy-mix/

Very nice woody...I think the reverse looks better than the obverse.

I agree with Ken.

On a second note, why do 1928-1939 lwcs seem to be the more common years for woodies and on ones struck before and after they seem more uncommon?

Possibly cause more of those years of coins were struck.
