1984 P Nickel Planchet Wrong Material?

Howdy folks. This is a nickel I found in a roll. It doesn't appear to be stained or painted in any way. It looks like the planchet was made of the same material used for pennies or something. Can anyone give me some info on what this might be? Thank you in advance.

Looks like it was found outdoors and turned brown. A lot of metal detector finds look like that.

It eventually wear off the coin when they are put back into circulation. Some keep them to watch the coins changed.

I can't tell anything from the pics. They are not close enough and the colors are skewed by the background, so I don't know what the nickel actually looks like.
