My wife is a compulsive contest entrant / winner. She is not a numismatist by any stretch of the imagination but yet she has won more coin show door prizes than I can count. One of her most recent wins is this PCGS slab MS69 Baseball Hall of Fame half dollar with the signature of the coins designer. I have seen similar coins with ball player signatures graded MS70 and sometimes labeled First Strike and with specific coin show names but nothing like this designers version. Any ideas as to what this one is worth and were I can find it listed? Thanks, Fred

This label with the designer's signature is one of the more common varieties (there are a *lot*) with a population of 100, only 6 of them MS70. Most other varieties are in the single- or low double-digits; the rest number into the hundreds or thousands.

The full list of labels and their populations are here. The PCGS price guide for yours is shown as $150 but theirs is always high. They have only two recent sales from Heritage in 2015, for $46 and $30.

That coin appears to have some toning... no?

Not that it takes away from value, just hoping my eyes aren't getting any worse.

I like it. Gives it a "game-used" feel.
