I guess Tetricus coins are quite common, but I'm happy to turn up the first one I've found in my batches of Balkans bronzes.

Tetricus I
AD 271-274
Reverse: Fortuna with rudder and cornucopia
Souther Gallic mint, Cologne

The surface is a bit porous, but not a bad pick-up. I have several Roman bronzes in similar condition. Are you attributing yours to RIC?

Good find in that batch you got gtkwml. Did you use olive oil on this one?

This one was heavily encrusted, so I resorted to electrolysis. I usually don't use olive oil. Either long months in distilled water or zapping.

RIC sounds a lot like it, though I haven't seen a pic.

I've got a few Romans in olive oil at the moment. Just trying it out. I do Distilled water really. But just trying olive oil too.

The portrait doesn't look like Tetricus. It looks more like Claudius II Gothicus which matches the legend too.

I tried the identifier at OCRE, and it showed *cvspfavg* as Tetricus. The description also matches the reverse for RIC 73.

Nothing about the style points to Tetricus
Not sure who it is but the Gallic emperors don't seem very likely

But what if it isn't a C? This is why I think Gothicus.

Similar?

The square jawed (tough as nails) look made me think of Probus

I'm afraid, RVFVS, you are quite correct. Probus.

Please help -- I'm now having trouble finding a Probus with the reverse, Fortvna with rudder and cornucopia.

It is not Probus. The style is wrong for any of his mints.
