Great progress on your Libertad collection, Silverskunk. I collect the 1 oz Libertad but from 1987 to 2007 I'm missing twelve years. I can't find any of them for less than $350.

Yeah its tough Gary. Ive gotten lucky on a few but I cant find those critical 4 years at ANY price let alone at a good price. A 1998 I'd go hog wild on but thats probably it as far as going mad. I have the cash but I'm not rich, not rich enough to spend $9 K+ on a 1 oz silver Libertad. I would if I had mountains of cash. In fact were I that loaded I'd be 100% numismatic. I love mooning over my few numismatic beauts like my CC MSD's. But sadly I have to weigh everything and my main goal is to leave a decent Legacy for my family for when I go room temperature. I really need a 2007 right now. Once I have that I'll have all the 400,000 and under mintage's except for those critical four years and all the 300,000 ones except for them. All my Libertads are in great shape too. My LCS sold me 1982 and 1983 first year onzas in great shape for the same price at the time as their ASE's. I think my LCS is my best shot at those four years at an affordable price. Another fun thing I'm doing is looking for the 300,000 Kookaburra mintage years just for the hell of it. I wont pay much of a premium for them tho but I do like the coin itself. I'm a registered coin-o-holic. One last thing. I buy the occasional pricey "artsy" coin even tho I'll never get the premium back despite only having like a mintage of 500. My wife is an artist and likes them and we keep a dozen on the mantle on art display. I get great pleasure in looking at them.

I agree, Silverskunk. Searching for key coins can be tough and frustrating. My main problem is that I haven't been collecting for very long so I end up working backwards a lot. That wasn't too bad until the recent increase in the price of silver. The Kookaburra was fun to collect. I managed to get each year for under $80 except the 2026 which was $96.
