Quote:I went to my first coin show last weekend and met a really interesting collector of Large Cents, and Half Cents. I ended up buying one of his coins it is an 1819 small date liberty head Large Cent graded AU-55. By far my favorite coin in my 7070 book so far. I also got a PCGS MS-62FH 1917 Standing Liberty quarter type 1, as well as a real nice 1892 col. expo half dollar. My only issue now is do I crack out the graded coins and put them in the book or not? I cant decide but I want to really bad! My advice would be that if you plan to hold them forever then go ahead and crack them out of the case. If you think you might sell them at some point (possibly to upgrade), then leave them in the slab.

Began my work on a type set, as I was advised here Today I received my first coins bought for this purpose. Please bear with me till I get my Red Book (I've already ordered it, 3~4 weeks left before they ship it to me). My question is - how many different 5 cents designs are there?

Then the "Liberty Head" nickel (1883-1912) Then the " Shield nickel" (1866-1883)

Thanks, eaglefoot, for the clarification! I meant the new ones and looks like I'm missing only one of them. (the 1913-38 Buffalo and Shield still haven't been found of course as especially the Shield is very hard to get here).

Your welcome DL20K...! Yeah, here in Kansas the "Westward Journey Series" aren't really out there much in circulation anymore......they can still be found in rolls.....but not your average pocket change very often. I still wish I'd have purchased an unciculated roll of each of the designs when they first came out !......I got a couple of '06 U.S. Mint wrapped rolls of the new Jefferson design though.... And I'd remind you that you can get whatever you want from CCF right here, if you post up and ask what you're looking for......those nickels wouldn't cost ya much at all to get for your album/folder. I'd certainly try right here before ebay or some other source anyway.

Eaglefoot, looks like someone here did exactly that. The person I bought them from must have a roll (or more?) of each design and is as for now the only one who sells them here. I can't use ebay anyway /payment problems or impossibility/ Ask here, you say? OK, do you have a nice SBA?

I stopped by a store today totally on the spur of the moment. (I'm on vacation... I was filling up the car and the store was across the street.) It was kind of a bear getting them to show me the coins as they are primarily an internet business and didn't have a show room. I was impressed the coins were as good in person as they were in the photos... Needless to say I wont have any problem buying from them online in the future. They're located in Edmond Oklahoma. Their online storefront is https://www.apmex.com1948P = $5 1950P = $18 EDIT: I tried posting the images here, but they don't allow hotlinking... I then tried posting links to the pages themselves... That didn't work either... If you want to see the pics you're going to have to visit the site.

I had the day off work the other day, and it just so happen to also be the day my kennedy rolls came in. So I thought I'd really coin up the day and go to the shop as well. I picked up 11 different canadian cents for my albums. Also a british Half Cent and a commerative canadian quarter. For american coins I picked up a bicentennial quarter proof silver (4$), a bicentennial half proof silver (7$), a 1974 S eisenhower proof silver(6$). I got them at pretty good deals I think. Very pristine proof coins. Oh, and I also got a 1980 proof SBA because I didn't have a proof SBA yet. It was also like six bucks or something. Oh, and nothing from my Kennedy halves. One thousands dollars of non NIFC clad.
