I did manage to make a second set of 1876 Philadelphia International Exposition Ticketsand got several more sharp AU/UNC or UNC Blue serial numbers. I swapped around to make these tickets to make these sets which are nicely matching examples. I almost feel it is redundant to post a whole bunch of same tickets again even though some have not appeared. So here are two gallery images. 5 Extras I have are not in this post. I'll most likely sell off my extras to finance a Saint Louis ~ Louisiana Purchase and/or Lewis and Clark exposition ticket. Set 1 Set 2 I also picked up this "Guide Book" to the Exposition.

Another super ticket 1893 Columbus Columbian Expo Ticket A 52952
My second "A" prefix serial number Columbian Exposition Ticket. I have a Columbus without the A prefix. The other I have with the A is Franklin. But I do not have a "plain" serial number Franklin. There are only 5 in a set with the "A" prefix as the Handel ticket is not one of those sold as souvenirs in the Caxton envelopes. Will I continue on with this set? I doubt it. Only if I get lucky. This ticket is so minty sharp and looks better than the pictures I have taken.

Thanks for posting, I'm chasing after one of those Pan American Tickets. Last one my manual snipe didn't work fast enough and it got away on me. I will prevail!

jimbucks, I think Steve was asking about the 1876 Exhibition Visitors Guide in this post. http://goccf.com/t/330506&whichpage=8#2995276Steve, There are only a half dozen etchings inside. They are for the main buildings at the exhibition. The table of contents might give you an idea of what else is in there. It isn't terribly exciting but I did find the page for currency exchange for other countries. It is about Philadelphia as well, Hotels, travel info and restaurants and local historical points of interest. The attached fold-out map in the back is a bit rough, I can't stand vintage scotch tape, but it does fold out. Some of these have blank back covers and some are embossed like mine. Mine is in better condition than the average find, but far from perfect. I bought it mainly to include in my collection as I felt the cover on the front looked kind of cool and would display well with tickets, medals and other related ephemera. I might volunteer to display this sort of stuff at our Coin Club Coin Show next year. A few images.

1901 Pan American Exposition Dedication Day Ticket E. A. Wright, Bank Note Engraver, Philada.E. A. Wright was a major Philadelphia engraver initially printing greeting cards and stationery. In the early 1900s Wright expanded into bank note printing. Image will update, I do suspect that this sellers image of the back of this note has been cropped and it still may be somewhat off-center as is not unusual for these tickets.U.S. Vice-President Theodore Roosevelt declared the formal opening of the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo on May 20th 1901. This ticket is for that dedication day. Roosevelt noted that "The century upon which we have just entered must inevitably be one of tremendous triumph or of tremendous failure for the whole human race, because, to an infinitely greater extent than ever before, humanity is knit together in all its parts for weal or for woe." On September 6, 1901, President William McKinley is shaking hands at the Pan-American Exhibition in Buffalo, New York, when a 28-year-old anarchist named Leon Czolgosz approaches him and fires two shots into his chest. The president rose slightly on his toes before collapsing forward, saying "be careful how you tell my wife." September 14, McKinley died from gangrene that had gone undetected in the internal wound. Vice President Theodore Roosevelt was immediately sworn in as president. My 1954 Topps Scoop non sport collector card.
