It was only 34 degrees here is SE Wisconsin when I headed out to a park I came across a few weeks ago. While the park is newer, it is built around a small woods with some very old trees. Down the hill in the back side of the park is an old 19th century house which now serves as the town's haunted house display.

I hunted the woods for about an hour, but didn't find much there, so I went back to the park. A frisbee golf course has been built in the park itself. Agan, not much, but swinging my detector on the walk back to the car I picked up a signal jumping between half dollar and quarter. (I use an Garrett ACE-250). I dug my plug and was surprised to pull out a 1976 Kennedy Bicentennial Half Dollar. After checking the hole again I also found a clad quarter, hence the unusual signal.

It's only the third half dollar I have found in six years of detecting. Nothing valuable, but it was nice to dig up a big coin.

Always a surprise to dig a big clad coin Paul.
AFA frisbee gold goes, they've taken over almost all the parks in my area! The players are usually cooperative, but it seems I'm "always in the way."
