In my efforts to take stock of what lincoln wheaties I have, I so far have come across a few rebels.

1951 Is just basic letter doubling but not sure which kind of doubling you would call it.

the 1930 is the wild one. Lincoln has NO nose! I have gotten as close up an image as I can and do not see any type of scratching or gouging that would explain what happened.

opinions are more than welcome and thanks for looking

malissa

On the 1930 the metal rolled up on the end where the nose tells something about it. The design was there but received a hit and pushed the area back raising that area. Could have been a bag mark/circulation nick/intentional damage. It was a post strike damage that caused this.

The 1951, I can't see the doubling you mentioned on the images. Sorry.

I can see what looks to be Machine Doubling on the 1951. I dont think you have a doubled die variety but maybe one of the experts can verify.

I believe what malissa is refurring to is the area above IN GOD WE TRUST. Appears to be just normal die wear & deterioration.

The 1951 shows some die wear, but no doubling.

The 1930 is damaged.
