The planchets for 1811 came from England and were definitely substandard (porous). Since it's the key date for that issue it's worth sending it in to a TPG. I usually send in some coins to NGC for grading in December. I may include this one - not sure. If I do I will update with the results on it. Report this Post to the Staff

I knew it would probably come back 'details' but I was hoping they would consider the poor planchet quality of the 1811 Half Cents...
