Quote: I sure hope the don't issue any unique coins in the US/foreign sets. I actually hope they do, but for the sets dealing with commemoratives I don't believe they can. I don't even think they're allowed to play with the finishes on the commemoratives.

MD: I did finally get a shipping notification for my February saucers.. ..and..re: special coins for the set. I will go out on a limb and say this is how they will whittle away at the 750k clad halves. Really too bad it isn't a silver proof for that price.

For those of you that purchased the 2019 Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Proof Half Dollar Set, the mint is providing replacement packaging due to the printing error: http://news.coinupdate.com/mint-pro...-dollar-set/I haven't called yet but will let you know my experience as soon as I do.

OK, that went smoothly. I've never called the US Mint before now and my first experience was pleasant. The call center rep had to verify with their manager about the replacement program but that took 30 seconds and now my replacements are on their way.
It looks like you have to call as there is no link on the product page to request a replacement. I assume you could also do a live chat from the web site but I opted to call.

I just called and requested replacements for my two sets. It went smoothly as well. Perhaps we'll end up having some sort of rare OGP variety.

Quote: US/Spain Apollo set supposedly coming as well. Possible future sets with Italy and the Vatican though possibly a different topic and then the British mixed set too. For anyone that requested the replacement OGP for the Kennedy set, did you get an order # or any kind of confirmation? I did not and there's nothing in my orders indicating that this is coming. Just curious.

I didn't get a confirmation or an order number and it shows nothing in my order history.

My replacements showed up today in a legal-sized manila envelope. The return address says "Department of the Treasury". After a long day at work, my brain interpreted that as Internal Revenue Service and panicked a little, thinking an audit. Fortunately, just 3 new sleeves. I wonder how many times the replacement design was scrutinized before getting the stamp of approval.
