Hello everyone,

Got me a new digital microscope the other day and absolutely love it. These are some coins I came across and wanted to know what your thoughts are on them. See if any of them are possible ddr/ddo/unique/rare ect.

*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

First up is a 1964 nickel. This a possible ddr/ddo?

Next up is a 1940 nickel. Would this be considered full steps or close? Or since the left side are damage it don't count?

Then I have a 4 finger 2009.. I should research this again before posting. But I thought I seen somewhere this is unique?

Next up is a 2018 dime. I dont think this would be considered a DDO. Maybe a hard stamp? I thought it was ghosting but in all directions as I rotate it it looks like this.

Next up is a 1982 D. Just want to make sure this is the large date and not the small right?

This next one is a 63 D (maybe a re-punched mint mark too?) But is this rot or could it be some weird error? I've only seen zinc pennies do this but not copper.

Anything worth keeping or all cents to the dollar?
Thanks for any info/help!

@PC, I'm glad to see a bunch of interesting coins for us to look at, but best practice is to post each coin in a separate thread so that in the future when we are looking for a specific coin, it is easier to find.

With specific regard to the '63-D cent, that looks like an adhesive or even solder stuck to the surface of the coin. You might be able to pick it off with your fingernail. I don't see an RPM, but a close-up photo of the mintmark might show otherwise. Please post this pic if you can. Thx.

it would make it easier if you would post one coin per topic - makes it a bit easier to keep track of the coins

Here we go: 64 nickel-VLDS
40 nickel not FS
2009 cent,not sure
2018-D dime, DDD
1982-D is a LD
I agree with Spence on the 1963-D cent.
Also, your photos seem to be yellow in color. Is there a white balance on the scope?
