This coin looks lovely, but does have some bag marks/damage on the left forearm and the adjacent field. I apologize for not getting the whole coin in focus. I'm still learning.

Bag marks and scuffs go hand-in-hand with silver dollars. It's just the way it is.

Alright Jadey. We might need to have an intervention with you about the dangers of buying high-grade raw early dollars.

Trade dollars are out of favor, many high grade no-problem TPG-graded examples out there. But everyone likes a deal too!

MS61. No visible wear, just lots and lots of contact. Has a semi-PL appearance.

Quote: It looks very clean... Quote: I was worried about that too nss52 I think those are reasonable concerns. IMO it has a bit of a PL quality, but moreso on the obverse than the reverse, which is the opposite of what I typically experience (not that I've had a lot of experience). The best I can describe is that the reverse has a nice cartwheel luster, and the front has the same, but with more of a reflective surface. Edit: It would be more accurate to say "reflective field". I'm not seeing the devices as relective.

Quote: I grade it very close to $1,000. I got it for $650 + 10% buyers fee = $715. I like the coin, but I'd love it without the marks near the elbow.

I'm was assuming this was an internet purchase as well when I made that comment. I guessing you purchased this coin in person as well, correct?

@MikeF Yes, live auction. I got 9 coins total. I will probably post them all here at some point for grading opinions.

Nice buy MS 61. If you are ever going to sell the coin, it should be sent in for grading.

MS-62. I'd submit this one to a TPG due to how many fake Trade dollars I see for sale out there.
