They mint BILLIONS every year because they seldom ever make it back up the change to the Fed like nickels and up do. I am actually shocked people get the number of non-current cents that they do. It shows that the number of people cashing in their change is non-zero. Approaching zero, maybe, but non-zero nonetheless.
