So recently I have a terrible streak in CRH. My friend who found me the old 1937 series notes and the solid 9's note asked me to meet him.
When we met up he said he has an early surprise for me. He passed me a small envelop and said that he got it from the bank when he deposited a check.
I opened the envelop and I gasped in amazement.

Inside there contained:
4 Shield nickels (1 1867 no rays, 1 1882, 2 dateless).
12 V nickels.
4 Buffalo nickels (1913 type 2, 1924, 1930, 1936).
1 lone Wheat cent but it is a 1909 VDB in great condition.
1841 large cent.
4 silver dollars (1965, 1971, 1972, 1973).
1 silver half dollar (1965).
Around a dozen nickel dollars.

He let me keep everything except the nickel dollars. I bought him lunch for the next couple days.

My guess is your friend did not get those from the bank but being a good friend did not want his gift to be a big deal.
Rest in Peace
