my hope for tonight is the same as last night, but with Milton approaching who knows how it'll go. we'll be mostly unaffected by it, although the weather service is forecasting 3 ft of water mostly coming in from the Gulf side of Key West between 1-3 AM Thursday morning. It coincides with high tide and king tide. Similar set up as to Wilma and Ian but we won't have the winds or the pressure gradient. It may not happen, this is just what they are forecasting as of 8 pm tonight. we wait n see. you'd think that my nightly gig would be simple and easy, but it gets increasingly more difficult as time goes by. it's a wonder I find anything & get the cats fed, the nights are fraught with difficulties... bored police, rain, hobos, raccoons, miscreants of every stripe... each night I brave the island streets undaunted... kitties need food & love and gold is coming.

last night I picked seventy-nine cents, all well-scattered change. a waterspout (turned-tornado) came ashore at Truman Annex in KW (about a mile from where I live) last night at 11:40pm, as I was sitting at home preparing for my nightly ride. no warning. it tore the roofs off two military buildings.

truly. I opened all of my shutters today; yay, daylight, sunshine! tonight I picked eighty-four cents: quarter (at my first stop, a soda machine) zincoln zincoln 4 dimes, 9 zincolns, scattered in & around a handicapped parking space and 4 zincolns at a drive-up window area. a total of 5 stops for tonight's loot, plus one more stop for a bottle of spring water. it had been a month and a week since the last bottle. since Milton dragged the tropical heat away with it, the air is slightly less warm, so I can start having a coffee each day again. you know now where that bottle of water is going. yum. that really is about the closest I care to be to a cat. 5 monster like that.

yes, that's a great photo, I wish I could take credit for it. I don't know who shot that photo, i'll have to ask someone. that's the third storm to closely pass us this season. I hope that's it. tonight I picked two quarters, one from a soda machine and the other from a sidewalk in front of an atm machine downtown. it was friday night at the hot dog stand, so my total haul tonight-- earnings and findings-- was $50.50. maybe I should play the daily 4 and use 5-0-5-0...
