....early morning beach walk, Fort Morgan beach (Gulf Shores area) Alabama ... wife & I are at the westernmost point of the island, where Mobile Bay meets the gulf of Mexico ... as I was collecting this neat little Florida Fighting Conch shell (juvenile stage), my wife simultaneously picks up this clad Roosevelt dime, covered with copper oxide-infused sand ( from the dimes' exposure to the salt water ) ...thought it was a neat effect, so I thought I'd post pics ...

Quote: early morning beach walk, Fort Morgan beach good stuff, mrwiskers! I find nasty ol' coins like that from time to time. I have a small conch shell- similar in size to yours- that I picked from geiger beach near NAS KW in 2015/16. it's the only shell I've ever picked and kept. Quote: nice finds last night! Quote: Good score, MrPink2018 yes, it just keeps piling up, slowly but surely. last night I picked eighty-nine cents, starting with another two quarters, which is all I found the night before last night. I figured those two quarters last night was going to be it for the night, but I was not satisfied with just another fifty cents... but because I also had to do the hot dog stand-thing last night time for pickin' was limited, plus there were people loitering in some of the key areas (that I search every night), which is problematic. so after I had pedaled back to downtown and put the hot dog stand put away I went back out again to search those key areas, scraping up the other thirty-nine cents. running total approaches the $320-mark. 5 weeks and 5 days until black friday.

Quote: ...I had pedaled back to downtown and put the hot dog stand put away... ...that should read 'and got the hot dog stand put away'... that's what I get for not proofing the whole text... it was nearly 2am when I rolled up to the pair of water machines tonight at Publix and stuck my finger in the first machine's coin return, picking two quarters from it. jolly good, I figured that would be the Score Of The Night as I poked my finger into the next one; my finger plunged into a pile of coins, so I paused to put on my glasses and picked my winnings: 18 quarters! worth a yahoo! $5.67 on the night and only the second time this month I've picked $1+ in one night. it was the most I've found in one night since june 17 ($4.58) and also the second-highest amount found in one night this year! now I'm feeling pretty confident that i'll reach my desired target amount of $345 by black friday.
