Funny, been here five years and never knew this thread existed... I found a penny with road rash while out for a run/jog the other day. A couple of weeks ago I found three $5 bills wadded up together on the ground... A few years ago, I found a $20 bill on the ground not far from an ATM...
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

yes, John77, please post your groundscores here. good stuff. I can't remember the last time I found an FRN. I probably posted it here, i'd have to go back and look. finding money seems to run hot & cold for me lately. used to be I could go out nearly every night and rustle-up at least a dollar (in change, mostly), but I didn't hit the dollar-mark last night. last night all I could muster was a quarter, a cruddy dime and several zincolns, but it all goes into the jar regardless of the amount. I cut it short last night cos I had to shop. last night's load was pretty heavy and I didn't feel like putzing around with all that stuff on my back. getting on & off the bike for pennies with a full, heavy backpack is annoying, so on shopping nights I typically cut the hunt short & just head for home. there'll be more out there tonight, I have no worries.

Well not necessarily "found" money but I picked a Jefferson nickel from a LCS for twenty five cents and the dealer hadn't noticed it was A 1946D over Inverted D in at least MS-64, so I have a coin worth several hundred dollars for only twenty five cents. On another note, my brother in law just picked up a bunch of cheap Mercury dimes from his LCS and while searching the dates found both the 1921P and 1921D for only $2.50 each. I suppose the dealer had cleaned out an album and forgot he put those key dates in the common pile. I tested both and they are indeed genuine but only in VG-8 condition.

last night I scored $1.08 in well-scattered change.
today as I was leaving circle k with a coffee I scooped up a tidy stack of 4 dimes & 3 zincolns that someone left on a window ledge outside. I love it when that happens.
