I found a quarter and a penny in the supermarket parking lot a few weeks ago, but didn't pick them up. And there was a trash receptacle less than ten meters away.

I can see why you refused to acquire them.

okay, I just spent an hour trying to figure out the new download/upload/how-to-post-pictures procedures and I successfully posted a pic in the test area, so I'm going to have a crack at posting a recent pic or two here. there are two stories here: the coins on the pavement and the bike. let's get a better look at the coins first. see the dime & quarter? I was riding home & spotted them on my way thru. I rode thru that area about an hour earlier & did not see them, I caught them on the second pass going in the opposite direction. as for the bike.... I found that bike on the wednesday of the first full week of this month (i was on foot, another story itself). I had to put some money into it, but I now have a third bike-- a back-up for my back-up-- and it rides like a dream. out of all the stuff I've scored this year, that is the biggest, bestest find so far. even the ppl at the bikeshop commented that I scored a great bike.

i am sorting thru coin & money pictures from the last year and a half and I thought i'd share an interesting new development that's been progressing since february... in past posts I've mentioned some of the stuff I find each night that's not coins or money.. things like bottles of water, food and lighters, but I now have a curious new item I'm beginning to happen upon: ammunition!!i was picking thru an air-vac one night in may and found this: then one night in august I was picking thru an air-vac and found this: and then a few nights ago I was picking thru an air-vac and found this: ppl are losing ammunition inside their vehicles and then when they use the air-vacs, I find them later what am I doing picking thru air-vacs, you might be wondering.. one night back in february I was searching the parking lot behind the gas station, next to the car wash.. I noticed the door into the large dirt canister was wide open, and although I was a few feet away I could easily see all the coins, which I nabbed (ppl vacuum away an awful lot of change, I've noticed) now I raid those air-vacs nearly every night

The yellow-tipped one appears to be a .22 blank, probably for use in a nail gun - construction purposes, not a Duke Nukem video game thing. In addition to the cartridges and coins, you probably find all kinds of interesting things, Mr. Pink.

yes I do.. aside from the bike, the other couple items I've scored this year are a new aluminum yardstick and a really good backpack, which I have re-purposed as a 'toolbox', I use it to lug all my tools/painting gear from job to job..

one more thing to post before I start posting about coins & money... here's an artifact I found in november of last year in the parking lot where the air-vacs are: pendant, no chain or string attached, Mary Star of the Sea motif, turns out to be sterling silver... treasure!!

Pinkman, you're literally picking through garbage... you're brave.

it's not as scary as you might think.. scary I can handle; gross I cannot. I've had to develop some rules & guidelines.

Interesting finds! When the zombie apocalypse comes, the bullets will be worth more than the loose change.

...so, after my usual search last night I was pedaling around in the winn-dixie plaza parking lots getting ready to head for home when this caught my eye: see all the coins in that parking space? some kind soul & total fool left twelve quarters & a zincoln for me to find! $4.31 on the night, cycle 22 total sits at $98.73.. biggest coin spill I've found in many weeks, I can't understand why anyone would just dump three bucks in quarters... mine now...
