I am still amazed at how much money is out there.

me too... I have babbled incessantly about it over the years..

it all adds up

(i added the bold)

very true. I don't know what ppl do nowadays as far as having a savings account, but this is very much like a savings account at a bank, except that I am both the customer and the banker, and it is my bank-- First Pink Savings-- and there are no lines. hours of operation vary. it is a pennies-a-day endeavor, a little bit at a time gets added and it all adds up. did you ever have a savings account at a bank? I did. I had many, but because I was into baseball cards & comic books I really never made the savings accounts work well, or for very long. this one has lasted over 5 years, probably the longest I've ever maintained one.

What's surprising is that the same routes usually yield money when none was there the day before.

yep. it caught my eye one day and now I have my own bank. you just have to be watchin'-out for it.

i'll have to sit down later & figure out june's total, second quarter total, first half of the year total, june's collectible finds, extra stuff totals, etc... my bank doesn't have a book keeper; the cat sits with an abacus & we go from there.

anyone can do it. if you don't pick up those zincolns they'll just sit there & dissolve on the pavement. make them work for you.

@mrp, how small is the gold bar in the lowest capsule of your last picture--0.00000001 g?

...i was being called away as I was pecking that last post, so I'm back to finish:

that empty capsule in the gold pile is for the 1853 quarter eagle that's in my type album:

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

it belongs in the bag of treasure, but sits in the type album for now. it was the first gold coin I had acquired with $treet $timulu$ in 2018.

I'm pleased with it. most nights aren't worth talking about, and I realize how redundant it can be.. like tonight; one coin at a time, I found fifty-three cents, but I also scored a bottle of water & a can of Dr. Pepper:

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

a couple bucks in beverages right there, I'm okay with that..

Excellent MrPink!

It amazes me what people ignore/discard/needlessly toss/or just plain forget about in this day and age.

My late Father had an 8th grade education but was a "genius" at economics. He always said you could determine the state of the economy by 7-11 parking lot finds. Finding random multiple coins in different denominations (almost daily) meant that people were so busy making money and working that the dropped money had no value to them. On the other hand finding few, or no coins at all on multiple days meant people picked up what they dropped and were aware of value. It meant they may have been unemployed or struggling to find work or looking for a better job.

I still notice the same things today.

I pick up what I drop plus anything valuable others have left behind. Cents thru dollars —- it all adds up!

i can talk endlessly about all of that, westernsky, as you probably already know..

i find some amount of money every night, weather permitting. my stash couldn't be happier.

i found $33+ during june, about $3 less than may.. the only collectible coins that I found in june were two old wheaties ('28 & '37) & an old jeffie ('57-D).

the second quarter ended $4.08 higher than the first quarter despite may & june being the two months of this year in which I've found the least amounts of money. so I've scored roughly $365 through six months.

totally. the water is mine, but i'll give the Dr. Pepper to my neighbor. he's a very handy friend to have (tools, carpentry knowledge, etc.) so I make sure he gets some street scores. all the unopened, undamaged beverages I find (like beer, liquor, wine, soda, etc., most of which I don't report here) go to him. he's aware of my nightly gig & thinks it's an incredible thing I'm doing, feeding several street kitties, finding money & turning it into stash materials. stacking. one of these days soon i'll show him the treasure bag; he has a stash of silver eagles, which I have not seen. I don't bug him about it, but I stealthily plant the seeds to get him to break them out. I'm always talking about ASEs & gold & related things. I just wanna see what he's got in his ASE stash.

july 4th holiday weekend, the island is loaded with party ppl. and they are also loaded. I hope they unload a bunch of money & stuff for me to find the next couple nights.

That's so kind of you to do that! He must appreciate it too.

Alchemy at it's finest!!

Today I went to get a haircut and decided to walk to the stylist. I knew it was going to be good when I was 1 block over and found a dime, I found another a few blocks over and then 12 more cents.

What makes this pure alchemy is that the 2nd dime I found was silver. I usually change street finds to silver and gold, but today no need.

Notice the 1950 dime, silver dimes are so noticeable !

it is good to be a street pirate with good eyesight!

@jbuck-

thanks! if anyone would have told me 5-1/2 years ago i'd be doing this I might've called them crazy. but.. here we are..

I've been at it for 5-1/2 years, same amount of time I've been on ccf. both started roughly at the same time, but- oddly enough- my accumulated dollar-count outpaces my ccf posts by roughly 2 to 1. it's all good!
