Thanks all! This is the 2nd silver dime I found on the ground. About 2-3 years ago I found another silver dime in the Walmart parking lot.

I haven't posted here in a couple of weeks, but rest assured, this time I have pictures. Mr. Pink, I think we have the same target of $1 per day. Good to see the finds have continued for you. That record daily coin haul from early May My most recent Wheat cent found on the street Now some more recent greatest hits: at work, the past couple of weeks have involved a lot of changing filters in dorm room HVAC units. Drunk college students must have habits of dropping coins within the vents, which allows them to get wet through the year, causing them to look downright toxic at worst. On the other hand, "if coins could talk..." And a couple of recent days with good totals. In that last picture, the foreign coins are a Germany 2002 1 Euro and Ireland 2002 5 Euro Cent, and a Thailand 5 Baht of unknown year. The foreigns, and 61 cents in spendable American coinage, all came from the same Coinstar machine. The $5 bill was on the floor of a convenience store; the girl who was working there that night is my age and fun to talk to, including about coins. She'd never seen a Canadian quarter before I showed her one about a week earlier either. Then today (Tuesday 7/4), of course I found a smattering of 15 pennies on the ground all near each other, hot to the touch considering it was in the 90s and sunny out. Once again, the money's out there! Now the question will be for whomever gets some of these coins back in change a while from now, "holy cow what the heck happened to these quarters?" (Just noticed one thing that needs a correction: the picture from 6/30/2023 lists the correct amount of 95 cents, but only 85 cents are pictured because one of the dimes was inadvertently not taken out of my change purse until the following morning. It's no better than the ones that are in the picture.)

Quote: Looking good! I wouldn't describe the conditions of some of those coins I found at work as "good" haha! They might be rare errors worth thousands of dollars on ebay though... Today I found $1.50, which included a quarter given to me by a girl who works at a small local grocery store and knows I like looking for change. She's pretty neat, and coincidentally the quarter was one of my favorite state designs (Alaska) too.

Quote: I think we have the same target of $1 per day as this began developing I always kept the dollar-a-night mark in mind, as it just makes the math in my head easier to do. for instance, if I want to save up for, say, a silver eagle, it means that by finding a dollar a day it ought to take about a month of saving (presuming that the silver eagle's price is about $30). same with gold. if the cost of a gram of gold is about $90, it'll take about 90 days to scratch up the money for it. and so on. my running total at the moment is nearly $123. my target is $185, the approximate cost of a 2.5g gold bar. I'm roughly $62 away from the target. so based on that dollar-a-day math, I conclude that I have about another two months to go, which puts my target date around september 7. of course, the more I find the faster I reach the target. everything else figures into it, too... like the weather, the window of time for feedin the kitties, dodging my downstairs neighbor, etc. my life is currently structured to fit this endeavor in as it has provided me with a way to continue stacking, whereas the stuff I do for work only pays the bills & buys the food (and just barely). there is no leftover money for anything. things are much different now than in 2018. so, I'm out there every night to feed kitties & find money, whatever the weather. rain wrecks finding money & can delay kitty feedin time. tropical weather pretty much quashes all of it. but I need a break every now and then. I won't stop feedin the kitties, but i'll relax on money-finding for a period. I need to pull back just a little for a bit of a mental break, an attitude adjustment. i consulted my calendar pages from last year; there were two months in 2022 where I did not search at all as I was too busy with work & couldn't devote the late-night hours. there was another month (or two) where I conducted only abbreviated searches. I don't recall how much $$ I scored last year. it'll take some diggin to figure it out again. i'll carry on babbling about all of this again later, I have to get my day underway. as for all of you, dear readers & fellow coinheads, do carry on, be watching, as ppl are always ditching money somewhere. let them help you build your stacks & stashes. I look forward to your pictures & stories! more soon!

I've got some interesting co-workers who seem to enjoy a prank... I found all of these in our break room/shop room today. The quarters say "We See You" and "Run", written in what appears to be permanent marker, while the other "coin" is just an ordinary junk metal disk that a co-worker tried drawing the obverse of a quarter on hoping I'd fall for it...haha. This represents 50 of the 74 cents I found today.

DiscoLover82, you have to admit that it was funny. And they care enough about you that they took the time to set up this prank. I know that they were cackling as they did it, but hey - you got free money!
