Quote: I sold all 4 for $165 Quote: I used that $165 to get a 1/20 ounce gold Canada coin and a 1 ounce silver maple leaf. that is how ya do it. i should quit reading about the Great Kentucky Hoard, I'm starting to have dreams about finding buckets of gold coins.

another buck in the wild, found last night, curled up under a bush: the 8th wild bill in as many weeks.. an additional $1.13 in well-scattered change made for a good night last night.. I scored $8.41 in total last week, so I'm still cruising along at a bit more than $1/day.. $20 to go, getting very close now..

Yesterday I helped out at the auto upholstery shop, and the boss told me to take the loose change out of a pickup truck center console he was going to junk. Well, I opened it up, and it was flooded with rainwater... and full of nickels! Gross nickels... but I took them all out and they went in the coin jar!

Well, I opened it up, and it was flooded with rainwater... and full of nickels! Gross nickels... but I took them all out and they went in the coin jar! My favorite kind of find! I've found four wheat cents within the last two weeks, bringing my total since moving here a year ago up to nine: From left to right: 1955-D: found Monday 7/31, about 7 PM, in the penny tray at the same convenience store I've mentioned in prior posts. I showed it to the girl who was working and had to explain why it was so exciting. 1944-P: found Sunday 8/6, about 2 PM. I was walking down the street and saw a corroded penny on the side of the road. Expecting it to be a zincoln, I was surprised to see it was from 1944! 1929-D: found Tuesday 8/8, about 7 PM, in that same penny tray. It was the new oldest coin I'd ever found in circulation (not counting my 1919-P cent from roll hunting last December), so I was psyched!! Until... 1911-P: found Wednesday 8/9, 7:30 PM. There's a house about two blocks from my place, home to several girls I like talking to. My conversation with the one girl got cut short as her roommate called out to her from upstairs, but in the front yard I saw something that looked like a penny but I couldn't read anything on it because it was covered in dirt. Upon getting home and rinsing it off in the sink, I saw a wheat reverse, and a barely legible date of 1911 on the front!! (The pic doesn't do the best job of showing it, but this story is just too awesome to make up!) Judging by the condition, who knows how many decades this coin spent in the ground? Foreign coins have been hot lately too. I've found a Japan 1 yen, Tunisia 100 millimes, several Canadians; one day I went border to border, finding a Canadian dime and a Mexican peso. Found a Spanish euro cent recently as well. As for impressive daily totals, I'd say Tuesday's $2.57 (not including that 94-year-old wheatie) counts - thank you to whomever left behind $1.50 in quarters at a soda vending machine! We're at less than a month until all my rich peers are back on campus. I'm thinking this year (my senior year) is going to be even better than last year! Maybe a century-plus-old Wheat cent will be the exact lucky charm I need to get me through a tough physics exam. (edit: minor wording)

To find that many wild bills!!! more urban than rural, actually. I'm in the middle of a densely-packed island, it gets more rural northward, up the keys. I am 5-15 minutes from all the things because I'm positioned in the middle, everyplace is an easy bike ride to get to. 99.98% of my wild bills are found in one particular spot, but can be found literally anywhere... but you're right, I do manage to locate a good many wild bills. I'm sure that I'm only picking up a fraction of what really gets dropped during any given day. I have a two-hour window at night to go pickin', so I'm rarely out & about during daylight hours. I'm usually working. it's been feast or famine for me lately, but it's all piling up. I'm nearly within ten bucks of my target. I'm glad someone is finding neat stuff, cos I'm sure not, lol! I haven't found anything collectible in weeks.

A few years ago on my morning walk I scored a $20. A few blocks up right outside a shabby apartment that generally was inhabited by meth heads. I chuckled and cackled at the thought that one of then had lost their stash money. Too bad, so sad!

I occasionally find wrapped candies (Life Savers, Jolly Ranchers, etc.), and every now and then a bag of chips or something that someone bought at a vending machine and forgot to take. Beverages too (most recently a Mountain Dew that really hit the spot after a long day at work). So you're not the only one there either!
