foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 08/04/2008 12:03 am This is Machine Doubling damage, but turn the coin over and see if there is any real doubling on the IN GOD WE TRUST. There is a nice DDO possible. Your pictures make it clear and can be used as a teaching tool. If you start on the surface of the coin and you look at the doubling. The doubling is almost step like. Look at the lower portion of the C....Imagine stepping from the field of the coin onto the first "step" (the doubled looking spot) and then onto the second "step" placing you on the upper surface of the C. We say the doubling is shelf like but I like to describe it as step like. I hope that helps, Have Fun, Bill Report this Post to the Staff
