coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/17/2019 12:51 pm That is not damage. It was an issue of the design pressed to deeply on the 1960's cents. Because on a lot of these the metal that should have filled the step area couldn't fill the void created on the steps. So they steps are not showing on a lot of coin during that time. There may also be a thinning of the metal on the coin and it maybe under weight, thus not being able to be filled because of the thinned planchet. So there be a doubled issue with this coin. But it is not damage. Note how it is smooth where the steps should be. The planters are also weak. Not showing a hit and run incident on the coin.
