1970 S Cent Possible Double Die

It would be called a doubled die,not double die and I can not tell from those pics.

From the images it looks like Machine Doubling. This was very common on the 1968-1972 cents. When the devices are altered after the strike this is called Machine Doubling because the machine damaged the devices after the strike. A doubled die has the doubling on the die that enlarges the devices. MD reduces the size of the devices.





Machine Doubling looks like this:

Note the IN that is a doubled die? That show there can be a spread and even notching on a doubled.

But Machine Doubling can also affect doubled dies the same way it alters normal dies. Better images would be a lot better to see for sure.
