Hi all! Just bought this coin a few days ago, and it's coming to me via mail right now, I'll post my own pictures as soon as it gets here, but does anyone want to hazard a grade based on these seller pictures? My personal opinion AU 53-55, however there's some weird graininess to it notwithstanding the lustre. (got it at catalogue value for an FR-02, so a good deal anyways (15 usd, 20 CAD)) There's a Barber dime in similar condition coming with it, I'll post that one as well when it arrives! Thanks a ton! I goofed, meant to put this in Classic grading. Sorry! *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by Loruca 02/07/2019 4:00 pm

AU53 if it's real. The reverse looks fake and if it sounds like it's too good to be true...

The obverse looks like it might have been wiped. And I don't know how to describe the reverse but it isn't good.

Assuming it is genuine (it appears to be authentic) then I would grase it as XF Details - Improperly Cleaned. It does have problematic surfaces that leave it with below average eye appeal.
Possible whizzed on the reverse as well, the $15 USD price is a good indication that this is a damaged coin.

Yep! It is a bit of a weird one, and wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't look good in hand, but I really don't see any of the telltale "whizzing" traces... As for the obverse being wiped at some point, yep, I agree there! It's the granularity on the reverse that really worries me. But for 15$! I had to take that risk! Shipping from within Canada. Will hopefully have in-hand pictures soon! LRC

The reverse looks like a casting with mushy lettering and rough pebbly surfaces. Obverse rim does't look correct. I would question the authenticity of this one.

Well here it is. And I'm worried. The quality of the detail is good, and it tests as silver, however, it weighs in at 6.14 grams, which is low... Here's a new set of pics.

My opinion not changed - AU details (cleaned). You say you got it for $15 US - you're OK.

Hmmm. Either a dug coin or cast.
Picture of the rims please?

The weight is not low, it is exactly what it should weigh.
As noted above you have a damaged coin that is not worth much. $15 is not much though so as Coinfrog wrote, you're OK.
