1972 Lincoln Cent. Deep Strike. Obverse Side

azmetaldetector New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 02/09/2019 8:48 pm I found a 1972 Lincoln Cent in a roll. The obverse strike is very deep. Almost makes the coin look like it is in a bezel but it is not. The Reverse strike is normal depth. What causes this and is there any value over face? Is it considered an error? just carl Bedrock of the Community United States 20753 Posts	Posted 02/09/2019 9:10 pm I too have found some of the 72 Cent like you describe. Don't know what caused it but not an error, just over punched. The rim appears to be to high also. Report this Post to the Staff
