I'd be patient tho as you have the hard one already. These come around cheap if your patient. Especially low starting auctions. There won't be a shortage on the correct one.

Thank you all for doing all this Research and sharing it. I believe I have a set of medallions 3 cases with 20 in ea,ch case. I also have the small brochure that came with each one. I inherited these and just now found the brochures and a note about the 5 year guarantee of 525 grain silver. .

My question is, how do I verify the are silver, and not pewter.
I'm not really a collector so this is new to me.

to CCF

The composition of these medals are on the edge. It is stamped right into the curved flat edge of the medal. Might say Bronze, Pewter, Sterling or .925 or .999.

Got a couple on my want list. I don't know how many I have at this time,
but there's only 1 or 3 I still just have to have.

Hi TNG!

I stopped by this thread yesterday to read the docs I posted on Page 1...

When I saw that post by that new user asking for info, I just felt like a jerk for not seeing it years ago. I tried to write to him but his account is set to "no email". ugh... oh well.

Came across this thread when searching for coin/medals commemorating George Gershwin.
I think I am definitely interested in acquiring a Gershwin commemorative and perhaps the "Star Sprangled Banner" commemorative for my Musicians Coin Set.
It is really strange Numista doesn't mention these...
