I wonder if the bonus envelope will be offered with the other premium pennies (cents)? On the back of the bonus envelope it reads " Please use this complimentary envelope to store your new limited edition West Point penny COLLECTION ". So this envelope isn't just for your single bonus penny (cent), it is intended to store all of your premium penny COLLECTION. I would have assumed there would be an envelope for each penny (cent) and maybe there will be, but don't know why they would state that this one is for your COLLECTION

I wonder if going forward these bonus cents will be considered as part of the set (like the 1996-W Roosevelt dime in the 1996 mint set) or if they'll be considered separate.

If someone returns a proof set because of a defect, do they just keep the -W cent or is it required to be part of the return. I have a feeling that the mint didn't think through all of this.

Hmmmmm.....I would think it is part of the set even though it isn't ....and that made no sense

Returns are based on product codes. The proof set, the W cent and the envelope all have different product codes. This makes them different products as far as the Mint is concerned. If you need to return the proof set due to a defect then you return just the set as it has its own product code. Since the W cent and envelope have their own product codes as well, they would normally be returnable, but I believe the Mint has told others who asked about this that these products are NOT returnable. The Mint is saying that they were no cost gifts to anyone who ordered the proof set and are therefore unreturnable.

My Proof set and the extra penny I was able to order while the mint mistakenly put them on there web sight will be here in a few days. My order says it was received for the penny order placed on March 3rd. I guess mine was one of the 921 orders shipped.

Proof sets ALL come with the "extra" penny....unless you ordered one outside of the proof set order Does your order look like this? or is the penny added to the included penny at a cost of 0.01 additional? the 0.00 one is with every order

I get 4 proof sets every year, one I break up for albums, one for my grandson and the other 2 get put away... Well, the box came Saturday, with 4 proof sets, but only one penny. I called the mint and I believe they will make it right, but my complaint is the way they ship... box with ends folded in and no tape to secure it. Takes 5 seconds to open the boxes and reclose them... Someone at FedEx or USPO has my 3 other penny's... grrr What would it cost for 2 pieces of tape to secure the boxes...

I may order a proof set and take a chance at getting a decent W penny. I think the single coins on ebay have been cherry picked and at least this way I get what the mint sends that hasn't been cherry picked. Further some of the pics of the coin aren't that great or selling multiples so you can't see the exact coin you are getting and the listings fail to mention spots or marks on them. I'm sure many sellers will be dealing with returns. I wonder why the mint didn't put these cents in cello packaging like the W dime? Are the 2019 S proof cents experiencing the same spotting at the W cent? With the next two issues I hope West Point gets it right.
