Quote: Congrats, good catch! Enjoy your coin as part of the Canada's history.
But did they sell the coin for the issue price? Thanks! Like I said, it's stunning! They sold it for slightly more (10%) than issue. I was fine with the additional charge.

Sounds very good. The coin is popular, limited. You've got it for right price.

The last I saw the coin was being listed for $499!! The low mintage of 2,500 will definitely help drive the price. I love the renewed and 50 cent pieces from the Masters Club.

The $499 price is insane. On cdncoin.com, the coin is still available at issue price for VIP members.
Personally, I don't think this coin is outstanding; it's similar to the Masters Club 2 oz 1943-2018 Half-Dollar. I wouldn't have ordered this coin without the FEB19 promo code and decreased mintage.

I received the coin today. I got a low COA (love you CC&C). And the coin looks flawless. The quality of this coin is so much better than the 1943 Half-Dollar (also sold at Walmart last year).

Yes I see I've come to recognize (as others have I'm sure) how challenging it is to lay on that gold enhancement on intricate details -

@YesOrNo: Is that missing gold plating that you've highlighted inherent in all production of that specific coin? Or is it just a few coins and you've decided to keep it nonetheless?

@quasarito, I only purchased one 1943-2018 half dollar coin. I didn't see other coins. My conclusion was solely based on the single coin I received.

@YesOrNo I checked my copy of this coin and while I have some missing plating, it is nowhere near as obvious as yours; I had to get the loupe out to confirm there was a bare patch; it wasn't noticeable from a straight visual inspection without magnification.

@vonigohcr Good for you! I was not lucky enough to get a good coin.
I guess this kind of gold plating was manually applied by human. Because it took lots of efforts to miss two spots, so badly.

Any particular reason you decided to keep it instead of getting a replacement?

Quote: Any particular reason you decided to keep it instead of getting a replacement? There was no guarantee the replacement would be better. Because the quality of RCM silver coins, at least in 2018, was generally poor. As a result, I didn't purchase the subsequent National War Memorial coin.
