Good morning,
I am a long time (30+ years) error and variety collector, specializing in incomplete planchets. A friend pointed me here for reasons I will explain a little further down in this post.
I am no stranger to online forums, I go back as far as the rec.collecting.coins board on Usenet. I have participated on the PCGS Collectors Universe forums for over 15 years as "seanq", in addition to a couple of Yahoo groups dedicated to error coins. For a while in the 1990s I was on the CONECA Board, in charge of attribution services.
Over the past 25 years, I have built a date set of clipped Lincoln cents, right now it is nearly complete from 1909 through 2008, missing only two coins. Someone recently pointed me to a six year old post here featuring one of those two missing coins. The OP in that thread has not posted since the middle of 2014. I joined in large part to see if I can find the OP or that coin.
While I am here, I will be happy to share anything I have learned over three decades of collecting errors and varieties.
Thanks, Sean Reynolds

The dates I need for the Lincoln set are 1982 small date zinc and 2006. A few months ago I picked up a 1982-D large date zinc, it was listed on ebay without the composition but the seller sent me the weight. Sean

New member today. About two years new - coin roll hunting of Lincoln Cents, Jefferson nickels, Washington & State Quarters and some Canadian coins. Love the challenge and thrill of the possibilities.
