I recently won an auction on CCF for a 1909 VDB. I'm sure many here thought I went too high in my bid. All of the comparable ones I was watching on ebay went for an equivalent amount considering s/h.
My vote goes for Walkers, however. When you have a nickname for a coin or an area of collecting, such as VAMs, it indicates a certain affection on the part of collectors.
