Every once in awhile I come into something that I don't need but others might. Right now I have a couple old rolls (plastic tubes) of 1963 and 1964 Canadian pennies (1 roll of each). They look like someone put them away many years ago. I thought about selling them, but I wonder if the shipping would cost more than the coins are worth. I also have a handful of older Canadian nickels and cents (30s - 60s) that I don't collect. Is this anything worth keeping or should I dump them in my sack of world coins?

(PS: I'm in the US)

What type of grade do the 63 and 64 cents have?

One tube is hand-labeled labeled "BU" - the other isn't labeled. I can see a little tarnish on a few coins, but I haven't cracked them yet. I'd say they're uncirculated, but I don't know about BU. I'm guessing that whoever assembled these tubes pulled the coins from bank bags, but that's just a guess.

My other Canadian coins (the cents and nickels I mentioned above) are pulled from circulation - some are fairly nice but not BU... And that's why I'm on the fence about this. In the US we collect bags of LWCs etc even the common dates. But I don't know who might want these. I feel bad dumping them in my barrel of world coins.

(My Canadia silver and large cents are another story - I love those coins!!)

Although many collectors would like them.
Non OBW rolls can be had for 2$-5$
Hardly worth the price of shipping from the US.

I'm sure someone on this site from the US would love to trade with you. Make a list and post it on the "trade" section of this site.

I sell those at coin shows for $4 a roll... why not donate them to a local coin club, those are perfect for teaching new (and young) budding numismatists how to grade and examine mint state coins.

As I write this, I am preparing to send some 1964 BU 1-cent rolls to another moderator here (NSS-52) for exactly that purpose...
