Nice find.Looks like 1964-D rpm-001 / fs-501


Other more informed members will hopefully agree. I'm not a expert at this.

Definitely RPM-001 FS-501. Very nice find! Should also have a minor DDO.

Thanks everyone for your comments and @Tanman2001 thank you for the link, that was very informative! Do you think this is a stage 1...the rpm is strong and there aren't die scratches from the talon to the star? The coin has a lot of dings, what do you think it would grade and the value? Thanks for your time. I think this is my first DDO and I never would have known that w/o your helpful link! LOL (and I still can't see the doubling on the S).

Definitely stage A when looking at variety vista. I can see the notching on the S.

I'm not the best with grade or value but I think it's low AU. ebay sold listings put it at $20-$30.

I think your half dollar does match the CONECA listed 64D DDO-007 RPM-001, Stage A (EDS). The die scratch from the talon to the star on the reverse that is mentioned in the CONECA listings, doesn't show up on the Stage A only on the Stages B and C, see attached photos. You can tell the Stage C, Obverse Die Changed, LDS, by seeing that the obverse is not the DDO-007, see attached photos of the Y in LIBERTY. The photos are from examples in my collection.
