Looks to me like there could be "F. D." to the right of the arms on the obverse as you look at it.

Those diagonal bars remind me of Burgundy / Netherlands more than England.

Not English. The coat of arms is Austrian, I believe.

It might be Spanish Netherlands, 17th century. Just need to find the exact coin now (maybe a duit?)

Edit: Here are two copper coins from the reign of Albert and Isabelle (Spanish Netherlands) with this coat of arms, but not the same reverse. Knowing the diameter and mass of the coin might help get the denomination.

You guys are amazing. Thank you. The coin is about 16mm in diameter, and is quite light - no more than a gram or two (I have no good scales).

sure looks like Netherlands coat of arms
but not sure about obverse. found a few like it but they were silver from 1580 to 1600'S

Try Nijmegen, they used a cross on some of their copper. Late C16- early C17th
