I look the catalog of this coin theres no such description about the mintmark. The mintmark is in the side of the letter S or under the letter S or anywhere aslong there are mintmark. Sap Moderator Australia 16876 Posts	Posted 03/11/2019 11:46 pm I would assume that this mintmark is placed on the die as a separate punch rather than locked in place on the master die, just like the mintmarks on American coins prior to the 1970s; as such, the mintmarks can "wander" a bit. It is usually classified as a "variety" rather than an "error", since an "error" implies a mistake or defect of some kind is present, and there is no mistake here - just different options on "where to put the mintmark". Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
