Hey there diggers!
First finds of the season! After a tough winter it's finally digging time again. Although the frost is still an issue I was able to make some finds in the thawed muck of a great old multi-generational site.
Finds included a couple of British half pennies (Geo lll & a Victoria), half penny token 1815 ( Br.233) and a 1913 25 cents.
I'm looking forward to getting back out in the fields and making some more great discoveries from now til the ground gets frozen again.

to sfb...the British coins and the tokens were used extensively in Canada before our Confederation in 1867...the Victoria half penny no doubt passed as cent, as they're very similar to the Canadian large cents at the time
Being holed it may have just been on a string for a keepsake; keep in mind British coin was still used in Newfoundland until they joined Canada in 1949
