Hello. I Came Across This 1988 D LMC. The Date Appears To Have A Sideways

Hello. I came across this 1988 D LMC. The date appears to have a sideways 9 looped across both of the upper circles on the 88 in the 1988 date. That's the only way I can explain what it looks like. Or it's just my old eyes and I've stared at it entirely to long. I'm hoping the pictures come out clear enough using the optimizer tool.

Just a plating issue on the date. There's no 9. Also, there's Split Plate Doubling on the mintmark also. Just negatives for the coin. A spender unfortunately. http://www.error-ref.com/split-plate-doubling/ http://www.error-ref.com/blisteredplating/
