Careful with the links... The only links I found mentioning the official release date of April 23 were news sites on the controversy surrounding the coin and the history of the topic (including the one that has since been removed twice from this thread). The ebay listing at the top here is still active, my order was marked as shipped on the 12th.

Quote: 3 million for circulation and official release date April 23rd. How does the RCM plan to distribute these? The circulation mintage seems lower than usual.

Perhaps the regular loon design is also being distributed?

3 million are going to disappear in a flash. I'm not holding my breath to find one in circulation. I would say the regular loon will be everywhere.

I doubt these will be hoarded.

Quote: I doubt these will be hoarded I don't know about that. 3 mil is pretty low. The 100th Roughriders was the same, don't see many of them out there these days. The roll tuckers will gobble up a lot too. I won't miss the bus, gotta have a nice one. So when can we expect the silver version, then the colour version, then the special set..how could the mint miss this opportunity? .

Quote: Because it is a political coin, political comments are relevant. The link posted was absolutely not relevant to the coin. Unless you live in a fishbowl, nobody needs to read the article to know it's a controversial topic and NOT up for debate here. Like the coin, don't like the coin, argue all you want. The next person that decides to push the envelope in this topic will get a one month suspension.

Its amazing how many people here in Canada don't know about this coins existence and getting released here on April 23rd. Cant wait to see the views and comments coming with alot of head shaking.

3 million was the mintage of last years poppy toonie, spent about 6 to 8 weeks visiting local banks with very little success in getting rolls of this toonie. This loonie design just doesn't seem to give me the must have desire, so I for one wouldn't be spending the effort as the poppy toonies. I am guessing the RCM will have an official launch oh this coin

I'm hoping the mint does a coin exchange in Toronto this time. They didn't for the Armistice toonie. I spent way too much time going to bank branches and getting my hopes up for the toonie. I don't want to repeat that for this one.
