I'm no longer sure what I can say about this coin.

Quote: I'm hoping the mint does a coin exchange in Toronto this time. They didn't for the Armistice toonie. I spent way too much time going to bank branches and getting my hopes up for the toonie. I don't want to repeat that for this one. The coin exchanges are hugely popular and well attended by all age groups. The RCM needs to get out across the country and promote their coins!

I'm just going to find a deal online and save all the hassles.

I knew you were going to ask. It was a busy day yesterday and I was too lazy to take it out of the flip which was obscuring the design anyway. I had forgotten that Loonies are golden in color like US small dollars. In hand, the dual portrait is a little harder to see than in the pics -- it looks more like a full face that happens to have a line off-center. The shading is an interesting effect we don't usually see on US coins, and it's certainly among the more stylized designs I've seen. I'm glad to have it, but I wouldn't necessarily want all my coinage to look like this.

So is that one a loon colour or silver colour?

It's golden/brassy -- definitely not silver/nickel in color.

Reflections, and/or shoddy camera work. I don't see any signs of doubling anywhere.
