I'm already seeing placeholders for RP issues of these innovation dollars on the Mint schedule. They appear to be getting serious about this series.

If you're referring to the long list of the Innovation Dollar products with a TBD on the Product Schedule, then those have been there all year unfortunately, including the reverse proof options. There's also another discussion about the delay with the 2018 RP coin.

They should be working on the 2020 designs by now. Let's hope they aren't waiting until the 2019s are done to start.

If there is anything going on for 2020, it will be the various states seeking recommendations from citizens for designs - those go to the mint for concept drawings.
So, figure out the next states and check the governor's office's social media.

Do we have the latest update on the 2018 Innovation Dollar coins SOLD? So, now we have 2 series of 'for collectors' dollar coins that's only available in rolls and bags: Native American dollar and Innovation Dollar.

The Native American dollars come in the mint set. and if the Mint gets their act together next year, then I expect that the Innovation dollars will be included in mint and proof sets as well

I'd rather they just sell the Innovation dollars in a separate uncirculated set. That would keep the mintage down. I definitely don't like having to buy a roll of each just to get one.

My guess is that the Mint will have Innovation $1 products along the same lines as the Presidential $1s. So, we'll have rolls and bags of NIFC $1s, Innovation $1s included in mint and proof sets, and mint and proof sets of just the Innovation $1s. What I'm hoping is that this year's individual reverse proof coins don't also become an annual issue.

Now I just wait until the fall coin show and get them from a dealer who buys the bulk. Same way I get the Kennedy half dollar, uncirculated S-mint ATB Quarters, etc.
