Quote: I've stopped updating my Dansco sets as of end 2017, a habit I'd had since 1962. Collecting should make you happy, so if you don't enjoy it, don't collect it. Sorry to hear that you don't but some of us still look forward to the annual offerings and the variety. Stock quarter albums are particularly tricky this year with all the annual quarters, MMs and finishes (40, I think). There's no album that exists with labeled slots for all of them.

Do we know if the limited edition sets to come out in the fall will have the .999 silver coins, or go back to the .900 silver? My guess is the former, but I have not seen any info on the topic.

I'm certain they'll be .999, but if they were .900 I'd think that it would be virtually impossible to tell the difference by looking at them.

One of my silver proof sets was delivered to my mailbox yesterday; not a good view when I opening the mailbox and took out the mail. The box from the Mint was almost wide open. Needless to say but the special cent wasn't enclosed. The rest of the product was still there (the double-slabbed Mint Set, the Lincoln Penny envelope, and the shipping paperwork). It doesn't look like the cardboard was broken into; more like it wasn't really sealed before mailing out. I also got an e-mail from the Mint today saying they could not send out my second set due to some problem with my account, so I guess I'll call them tomorrow to discuss both problems.

My 2 sets arrived today. One of the W cents is flawless through my 10x loupe. The other has a couple very minor issues on the reverse; not enough to bother sending back. The sets themselves are very nice; glad to add them to the pile.

The mint has a real problem by not putting 2 cents worth of tape on the boxes. I got my 4 regular mint sets back when, box was open and only had 1 penny and 1 penny envelope in it. I filled out the forms, and they sent me the 3 missing pennies and guess what, the box arrived open. I was shocked the 3 pennies were still inside, but they didn't replace the envelopes that the pennies came with. I thought maybe they fell out, but they were not on the packing slip. I guess I am out of luck on ever seeing the envelopes. My Silver sets arrived ok, but the lack of tape really bothers me.

The box my 2 sets came in was very difficult to open. The glue was very strong; no tape.
I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about, though. When I order a few things at a time, they combine them into a box and stuff wadded paper in there and tape it shut. Sorry to hear of your experiences.

My set it due tomorrow along with the clad set which I waited on to save shipping, even though it would have been free anyway since this is my third order this year.

The penny envelope was inside as well but empty. In shipping the penny made its way down under the inside flap of the box. At least it was there. Check your packaging well for missing pennies.

I received my two sets last night, and finally opened the box a bit ago. It had tape on it, securing it well, but making it very difficult to open. And when I opened it... I see one of the cents is loose. The little plastic baggie had a huge gaping section missing, and the cent was floating around. I just used the envelope to slip it back in without touching it, and despite being loose, it looks great (as does the other)! It looks like the two sets ordered filled the box almost completely and kept it from moving around too much.

None of the 4 cents I've received has actually been inside the special envelope (not a surprise as they are different products). I've not had any issues with the plastic baggies. Mine have all been sealed. Sorry you guys aren't having the same experience.

All of my coins, including the cent look excellent! The OGP box for the set has condition issues where the edge looks like it wasn't glued properly and it is scrunched up and smashed looking on a couple of edges. At least the cent wasn't floating loose :)
