Did he know what he had...any moral obligation to tell him before consumating the deal?

That's crazy! I have never had a silver score like this. My biggest silver score was buying 4 holed foreign silver coins for $1 total. Anyways, incredible find and congrats!

I think ethically speaking, probably would have been best to say something to make sure it wasn't stolen property. That's not to say the guy would have confessed to it being stolen, or that all clerks should be able to spot silver vs. clad coins. Morally speaking, it is more of a personal values thing. I would like to think I'd tell the person. Because who knows, if that guy is spending money on pizza rolls he probably is pretty down on his luck and could use the money.

If he knew, maybe he would have wanted more pizza rolls.
